I have been using the delicious.com bookmarking website for quite a while now (6 years to be precise) and the site’s functionality has greatly improved in the last 6 months.
I recently presented an information session at work via videoconference to the whole state on how we can use delicious stacks to visually provide a list of useful websites for our students. Here’s the presentation if you are interested.

My official new job title at work is “learning technologies librarian”. Sounds a bit better than “e-learning librarian” or “e-learning resources advisor”.
Now I just need to find time to research and trial some “learning technologies” when I’m not working on my other roles as liaison librarian for the Springfield teaching teams, the e-learning zone coordinator (42 student computers), and the consortia coordinator for TAFE QLD, as well as working on a number of projects. And I work part-time!
Fun fun!

I just bought an AV (RCA) cable for my iphone so i can view videos on any tv or data projector with an RCA input. It was less than $30 on ebay Unfortunately it won’t display photos so if i want to show them i’ll have to convert them to a slideshow video first. Should come in handy though. Could be useful for classes and presentations?

I’m glad some academic libraries can use social web sites. I can’t believe we’ve all been banned from using sites like FaceBook just because a couple of teachers mis-used it to “chat up” students. If they had SMS’d the students would we then ban mobile phones???
Anyway, I’m green with envy at these articles:

From the Townsville Bulletin on Tuesday:
Nogood form
WHAT is it with the impossibly difficult forms which have to be filled out by apprentices and/or their parents claiming reimbursement for TAFE study courses? Surely these forms can be made simpler. I don’t know how apprentices living in remote indigenous communities go about claiming their entitlements. It’s as though TAFE is deliberately trying to to intimidate people into not claiming what is their due.
Ouch!

Librarians with the Ontario public service are breaking stereotypes and embracing social media to deliver information within their departments and beyond. Librarians at the Legislative Assembly and the Fire Marshall’s Office are using RSS feeds and Twitter to stay relevant.

This looks like a useful document. According to the blurb, it is “an introduction for librarians new to Web 2.0 and Social Media, and who are interested in using publicly accessible social media tools to serve Young Adults in any types of libraries: public, school, special or academic”.
